Ronda Rousey made history as the first female fighter to win the UFC and WWE belts.
She won't, however, be making a quick return to the working world.
In response to Rousey's attack on referee Dan Engler,
the WWE announced that she would be suspended starting on August 1.
They claim that after her SmackDown Women's Title match, Rousey became enraged and attacked the referee,
accusing him of missing [her opponent] Liv Morgan tapping out to the armbar while he counted the pinfall.
Rousey grabbed the referee's arm and threw him over her shoulder into the ring floor,
where she kept him down until another official came to his aid. The incident was documented on film.
Along with the suspension, the combatant also earned an undisclosed amount in fines.
The day before her punishment was made public, Rousey posted photographs of the fight to Instagram with the remark,
"Hey @wwe if you guys could quit screwing me to put over your golden babes at every huge ppv that'd be greaaaaaat."
Since her suspension, Rousey has thanked a number of stylists and companies in Instagram postings for assisting with her appearance,
but she hasn't said anything else. Due to her suspension, Rousey won't be taking part in this week's Friday Night SmackDown.
