Amy Ryan Joins Colin Farrell and Kirby Howell-Baptiste in "Sugar," an Apple Private Detective Series

Ryan has joined the previously announced cast members Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Colin Farrell as the series lead for the drama, which was first ordered to series in June. 

Specific plot and character details for the programme are kept under wraps, 

save for the description that it is a genre-bending modern take on the Los Angeles-set private detective story.

Ryan's performance in the film "Gone Baby Gone" earned her a nomination for best supporting actress at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. 

Capote, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) are a few of her other notable feature film credits.

She is well known for her television appearances as Holly Flax in "The Office" and Beatrice "Beadie" Russell in the HBO drama "The Wire.

Her agencies are Gersh and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson.

Mark Protosevich is the author and executive producer of "Sugar" ("The Cell," "I Am Legend," "Thor"). 

Farrell will executive produce in addition to performing. The movie will be produced, directed, and executive produced by Fernando Meirelles ("Two Popes," "City of God"). 

Executive producers at Genre Films include Scott Greenberg, Chip Vucelich, Simon Kinberg, and Audrey Chon. Apple Studios are the authors.

"Sugar" is the title of Kinberg and Genre Films' second television series on Apple. The streamer's programme, "Invasion," is also produced by the company. 

This science fiction thriller about an alien invasion made its Apple debut in 2021, and a second season was ordered in December. 

David Weil and Kinberg collaborated on the creation of the programme.
