Bullet Train is a new film directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw) that will be released this summer featuring an all-star ensemble cast. Based on Ktar Isaka’s 2010 novel, the film follows a group of assassins who discover their targets are related.

The storey of five assassins who board a high-speed train in modern Japan is told in the film Bullet Train. The assassins learn that their goals are intertwined in some way — the trailer suggests a MacGuffin in the form of a priceless satchel — throwing them against one another.

Set against the backdrop of a nonstop journey across modern-day Japan, Brad Pitt leads an ensemble cast of colourful, varied assassins — all with linked but conflicting agendas.

If you’ve seen any Marvel movies, you’ll recognise a lot of the characters in Bullet Train.

Brad Pitt plays “Ladybug,” an assassin who is attempting to flee his profession when he is lured into a mission that takes him throughout Japan.

Ladybug, a trained assassin, wishes to end his life, but his handler Maria Beetle persuades him to stay so that he can pick up a bag on a bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka. Once on board, he and the other assassins discover that their objectives are connected.

Bullet Train’s unusual look is its most striking feature. Bullet Train, set to a foreign language cover of The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive,” is pushing inconceivable heights of pleasure. There is laughter as well as expertly coordinated and controlled action. Examine the reasoning behind Brad Pitt and Brian Tyree Henry’s “silent car” fight scene, and how it all culminates in a punchline about being whisper quiet.

Some viewers are concerned with the film’s visual clichés of neo-noir Japanese aesthetics. Another potential difficulty is that, despite the fact that many of the book’s characters have ethnically ambiguous codenames, it is based on a Japanese novel and stars a large number of white actors. Bullet Train, on the other hand, has a sense of style that is sorely lacking in today’s mainstream action pictures.
