In the blockbuster auction for the IPL 2022 season, which is taking place in Bangalore, teams are spending crores of rupees on cricketers. On the first day of the auction, on Saturday, ten players, including seven Indian cricketers, were priced at above Rs 10 crore. As the auction progresses on Sunday, the list is expected to grow even longer.
The Mumbai Indians (MI), who had been saying their goodbyes to teenage wicketkeeper and opener Ishan Kishan until the very last moment, were awarded an unexpected Rs 15.25 crore. This is the highest bid in the auction for the IPL 2022 season. Deepak Chahar, also known as the power play wicket-taker, cost the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Rs 14 crore. Similarly, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced heavy competition for captaincy expertise from Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for another Rs 12.25 crore.
Harshal Patel, the Purple Cap holder who bagged 32 wickets in the IPL 2021 season, has been given Rs. 10.75 crore once more. The price of all-rounder Shardul Thakur (Shardul Thakur) who played for the Chennai Super Kings’ Delhi Capitals has risen to Rs.10.75 crore. The Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 10 crore for bowler Prasid, who recently made his India debut, while the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) paid Rs 10 crore for Avesh Khan.

Bangalore paid Rs 10.75 crore for Sri Lankan spin all-rounder Vanindu Hasaranga, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) paid Rs 10.75 crore for West Indian power batter Nicholas Pooran. The Gujarat Titans (GT) have spent Rs 10 crore on Locky Ferguson, a New Zealand fast bowler.
Chris Morris presently holds the record for the highest selling price in IPL auction history. Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 16.2 crore for him in the IPL 2021 auction. Yuvraj Singh is the next highest earner, at Rs 16 crore. The Delhi Capitals bought UV for Rs 16 crore in 2015. Pat Cummins is in third position with Rs 15.5 crore. In the IPL 2020 season auction, he was purchased by Kolkata.
